Daniel D. O’Neill
Chief Executive Officer

As CEO, Dan is responsible for all investment management and trading operations. He joined Direxion in 1999 and plays a leading role in the development and launch of new products and value added services for advisors and investors. He is a member of the Direxion Executive Management Committee.

Prior to joining Direxion Funds, he served as Portfolio Manager: Private Equity Investments at Hermitage Capital Management Limited in Moscow, Russia. His responsibilities included monitoring investments by two hedge funds in illiquid Russian equities.

Dan earned a J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he served on the editorial board for Virginia Law Review. He holds a BA in English and Economics from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, where he was a Jefferson Scholar.



Robert D. Nestor

As President, Rob is responsible for leading all business, product development and distribution strategies for the firm. He joined Direxion in 2018. He is a member of Direxion’s Executive Management Committee.  

Prior to joining Direxion, he served as Managing Director and Head of iShares US Smart Beta ETFs, driving commercial strategy in this area. Prior to this role, Mr. Nestor was Head of iShares Product Strategy for BlackRock’s U.S. Wealth Advisory business. Before joining BlackRock in 2007, Mr. Nestor spent 16 years at The Vanguard Group working in a variety of product and business development roles in both the retail and institutional divisions.

Rob is a CFA charter holder. He holds an M.B.A. from Drexel University in Finance – Investment Management and B.S. in Economics from the University of Delaware. He is also a member of the Financial Analysts of Philadelphia and the CFA Institute.


Paul Brigandi
Managing Director, Head of Trading

Mr. Brigandi  is responsible for the day to day management, oversight and trading operations of all Direxion Shares and Direxion Funds.

He joined the firm in 2004 and played a leading role in the development and launch of Direxion’s leveraged ETFs in November 2008.  Prior to joining the firm he worked as an Associate Financial Consultant  at FleetBoston Financial.

Mr. Brigandi graduated from Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. He currently holds a Series  3, 7,  55 and 66 license and over 10 years of experience in index replication and sophisticated derivatives based strategies.


Edward Egilinsky
Managing Director, Head – Alternative Investments

As Head of Alternative Investments at Direxion, Ed’s focus is to drive the firm’s product development initiatives, internal and external product messaging, training and support of product delivery. 

Prior to joining Direxion, Ed served as Managing Director of Business Development at Price Asset Management where his focus was on expanding the company’s distribution network and diversifying its product line. Ed was also Managing Director and head of Alternative Strategies at Rydex Investments where he provided leadership to the sales team for alternative strategy initiatives, expanded distribution channels, and effectively branded Rydex, as well, as a recognized provider of alternative investment. Earlier in his career, Ed was Head of US Sales and Marketing for Kenmar Advisory Corporation where he drove domestic asset growth among high net worth and institutional clients.

Ed graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from the State University of New York in Albany. He also holds Series 3, 7, 24, and 63 Licenses.



Sylvia Jablonski
Managing Director, Capital Markets – Institutional ETF Strategist

Sylvia focuses on Global Product Implementation within the institutional and tactical client segment as well as promoting ETF education and strategy throughout the financial industry. She is a recognized expert in the ETF industry.

Sylvia is also responsible for managing the Direxion ETF sales team. Prior to joining Direxion, Sylvia held a Delta One Sales Trading role which included ETF Asset Manager, Institutional and Hedge Fund coverage at Societe Generale. Before joining Societe Generale, Sylvia had 6 years of Financial Markets experience at Deutsche Bank where she covered Hedge Fund, Asset Management, Institutional and ETF Managers as a Swaps Flow Sales Trader/Equity Derivative Product Specialist.

Sylvia is a graduate of Boston College where she holds a B.S. in Finance, Management and a Minor in Spanish, and a graduate of Fordham University where she holds a Masters in Finance and an MBA in Economics and Strategy. She is conversational in Polish, Spanish and French.


David Mazza
Managing Director, Head of Product

David leads product R&D, strategy and management for the firm.

Prior to joining Direxion, David was the Head of ETF Investment Strategy at OppenheimerFunds and led the firm’s ETF Investment Marketing and ETF Specialist Teams. Prior to joining OppenheimerFunds, David led product strategy, positioning, and analysis as a Managing Director and Head of ETF and Mutual Fund Research at State Street Global Advisors (SSGA). Prior to that role, he was a member of SSGA’s Global Enhanced Equity Group, responsible for stock-selection research, portfolio management and product strategy; across multiple quantitatively managed investment strategies.

David received his M.B.A. in Finance from the Sawyer Business School at Suffolk University and his B.A. in Political Science and Philosophy from Boston College.


Andy O’Rourke
Managing Director, Chief Marketing Officer

As Chief Marketing Officer at Direxion , Andy leads all marketing efforts focusing on building brand and product awareness within the investment advisor community.

Prior to joining Direxion , Andy was the Director of Distribution Marketing for MassMutual Financial Group’s Retirement Services division. Andy has also been employed by State Street Bank, Fidelity Investments, and Emplanet Retirement Services, in various relationship management, product development, and strategic marketing positions.

Andy is a graduate of Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and has earned a Masters of Business Administration from the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College.


Patrick Rudnick
Chief Financial Officer

As CFO, Mr. Rudnick is responsible for oversight of all financial matters for the firm, including certification of financial reporting for all products. Pat also has lead responsibility for monitoring operational risk, and internal efficiencies for the firm.

Prior to Direxion, Pat managed various teams in the Fund Administration department at U.S. Bancorp Fund Services in which he was responsible for financial reporting, compliance, board reporting and expense oversight for a number of clients. Pat was also a key member of the team that helped develop USBFS’s ETF servicing model. He served as the Treasurer and Principal Financial Officer for Professionally Managed Portfolios and ETF Series Solutions, both multiple series trusts; and for the Direxion Funds and Direxion Shares ETF Trusts. Prior to U.S. Bancorp, Mr. Rudnick was an audit manager with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, specializing in assessing the internal control structure of investment management companies, investment advisers, and broker dealers.

Pat is a Certified Public Accountant, and received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater..


Benjamin Woloshin,
Managing Director, Head of National Accounts

Ben leads the firm’s relationship management efforts with Direxion’s client base. He joined Direxion in October of 2018.

Prior to joining Direxion, Ben was Head of Beta solutions for the Retail Insurance Group at BlackRock, leading the firm’s effort to build and distribute investment solutions utilizing ETFs and index derivatives to clients in the United States. Prior to joining BlackRock in 2013, Ben held global retail and institutional distribution roles at Goldman Sachs, MetLife, Citigroup, Bank of America and Putnam Investments.  

Ben has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from Loyola University in Chicago. He currently holds Series 7, 63,65 and 24 licenses
